With over 15 years experience Askia now serves as the VP of A&R for Mass Appeal Records working closely with CEO Peter Bittenbender & Rap Icon Nas to spearheads the companies new artistic direction. His introduction to the music industry began at the age of 17 while working for the family company known for creating Coca Cola’s memorable 90’s campaign “Always Coca Cola” this proved to be an invaluable experience in music & marketing placement. In 2005 went to be director of A&R for Russell Simmons Music Group/Def Jam. In 2007 Askia moved back home to a thriving Atlanta music scene and began working with Compound Entertainment supervising the A&R and publishing. Working alongside Grammy-nominated founder Ne-Yo allowed Askia to further develop his own vision for his company and demonstrated that he is the premier A&R in the industry. In 2010 Askia took his talents to the next level and founded Timeless Music Management a full-service management and publishing company that helped mold several Grammy award winning clients. In the midst of running his own company. he was tapped to work with Atlantic Records West Coast Division in 2015. While working closely with the C.E.O Craig Kallman & head of A&R Mike Caren Askia worked closely with A&R team members on various creative projects for rising artists like Nipsey Hussle, Ceelo, Trey Songz, Sevyn, Kevin Gates, Kehlani as well as the soundtrack for Fast & Furious 7.
