Azim Rashid is a veteran entertainment executive who was bitten by the music bug while growing up in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. As a teenager his family moved to Dallas, Texas where his dreams of getting into the business would come to life. First as a high school promoter and part time DJ, Azim picked up the microphone as a rapper and signed to Profile Records with his group Nemesis at the age of 19. After three albums with the group he returned to college and attained his bachelors degree in Liberal Arts from the University of North Texas. Aside from his studies Azim worked at a music retailer leading him to an internship at a local commercial radio station. That opportunity would land him a part-time job at Motown Records where his career in music promotion began.
Throughout his career Azim has been involved with successful campaigns at global brands Motown, MCA/Universal, Atlantic, Capitol, RocNation and now Columbia Records. He has worked with cultural icons and industry leaders that include Mary J. Blige, Sam Smith, NE-YO, Katy Perry, Wiz Khalifa, Sean "Diddy" Combs, T.I., MIGOS, Lil Yachty, Jaden Smith and The Carters. A believer of “paying it forward,”, Azim lends his time and resources to various charitable and philanthropic organizations including his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc, The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation, The Mark Cuban Heroes Foundation, his own Behind The Mic Foundation geared towards grooming future entertainment executives and The Living Legends Foundation.
