Byron Wright


Byron Wright is a respected leader within the music industry with a career that spans over a decade. As the Senior Director of A&R at Epic Records, whose roster includes Future, 21 Savage, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott and Kodie Shane to name a few. The Atlanta native and Marketing graduate from the University of West Georgia oversees every aspect of the recording process. From strategically pairing writers with producers managing budgets and procuring talent. Prior to joining Epic in 2019 Wright was the Director of A&R at Warner/Chappell Music Publishing and was responsible for signing DJ Durel (producer and Migos tour DJ), rapper Shy Glizzy and songwriter/producer K-Major. Prior to his contributions at Warner/Chappell Wright spent 10 years at BMI and was Senior Director of Writer/Publisher Relations. During his tenure at BMI Wright was heavily involved in producing signature events including the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards where iconic talent such as LA Reid, Babyface Mariah Carey and The Jacksons were honored under his term. He also produced the Beat Summit Showcases that were consistently sold-out and featured Grammy-winning production talent like Zaytoven, Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp and Mannie Fresh. Notable signings while at BMI included Future, Metro Boomin, Lil Yachty and Sonny Digital to name a few. Throughout his career Wright has stuck to the philosophy of always believing in and betting on himself. In 2011 he was chosen as one of Billboard's Top 30 Music Executives Under 30.
